Veneers
Veneers are a special kind of dental restoration made specifically for your front teeth. There are two major types of veneers:
- Chairside Veneers – these are veneers that are typically done in one visit with resin, tooth-colored filling material. Your dentist will prepare the tooth or teeth to be veneered, and bond them directly in the office.
- Porcelain Veneers – these veneers typically require two or more visits. At the first visit, your dentist will prepare the tooth or teeth and take an impression. The impression is then sent off to a lab for custom fabrication. Once received you return to see your dentist to have them cemented on.
Veneers provide a great solution for a variety of dental issues such as chipped teeth or larger than desired gaps between teeth, just to name a few. The appropriate type to meet your specific needs can be determined by a comprehensive exam with one of our doctors. They will carefully consider your particular needs and desired outcomes to choose the best and most effective option for you.
