Invisalign in Georgetown, Delaware
Invisalign is a type of orthodontics based on the correction of the position of the teeth with transparent aligners generated with a virtual treatment plan. The aligners are made with a technology of generating virtual 3D images.
In Dental Delaware we use Invisalign since 2007 and we are Invisalign Diamond Providers, the highest category that grants Invisalign worldwide. This specialization in the field of invisible orthodontics allows us to treat a large volume of patients and be in constant contact with new techniques and technologies that improve treatments.
Invisalign aligners are clear, removable and so comfortable that you can wear them without anyone seeing them. Because they are removable, you can eat and drink as much as you want during treatment, and you can brush and floss without any problems. These aligners do not contain metal pieces that can cause mouth abrasions.

FAQS About Invisalign
How does this type of orthodontics work?
Invisalign braces are based on a system of removable aligners that are replaced every two weeks to move your teeth.
We can say that Invisalign works just like braces, since it aims to correct the bite and alignment of the teeth.
However, the force exerted by the aligners on the teeth is less than that exerted by the brackets.
At this point, it should be noted that, in order to carry out the planned movements, the braces need to be supported by elements called “attachments”.
What are the attachments and what are they for?
The attachments are small composite reliefs that are attached to the tooth.
What are the advantages of Invisalign over braces?
Invisalign has a series of advantages over other orthodontic braces – Incognito lingual braces, sapphire glass braces or conventional metal braces.
The most important benefits would be the following:
Discreet
Being transparent, the aligners are almost invisible. This means that they are practically imperceptible, even at short distances.
The only orthodontics that is even more discreet than Invisalign is the lingual one, since when it is placed on the inner side of the teeth, absolutely nothing can be seen.
Comfortable
It does not have metallic elements -as it happens with lingual or traditional braces- so it does not hurt, it does not rub, and it does not cause sores or wounds in the mouth.
Removable
Being “removable”, Invisalign can be easily removed for eating and brushing.
However, you can also remove it at specific times, such as at a social event where you don’t want anyone to see you’re wearing braces.
Hygienic
As it is removed to brush the teeth, it does not hinder hygiene. With any type of bracket, brushing is more complicated, since the appliance is an obstacle to the brush.
How is Invisalign placed and removed?
Any orthodontic treatment requires a period of adjustment on the part of the patient.
Although this stage is especially short with Invisalign, there is something the patient has to become familiar with – putting the braces on and taking them off himself.
That’s why at our dental clinic it’s the orthodontists who put the first set of aligners on the patient. In this way, he “learns” how to take them off and put them on himself.
In other words, they can be removed at any time without any problem.
